Michael Rinke

Of German parents, I was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1957.
Due to my family’s activities, I had the opportunity to live in different countries, among them, Argentina, Switzerland and Uruguay, and to know many other places in Europe and America.
This nomadic circumstance, surely, has given my education a universal perspective, providing also the knowledge of several languages: German, French, Spanish and English, and, later on, the ability to understand Portuguese.
During the years dedicated to my work, I acquired a lot of experience in the various techniques related to visual arts, the production of shows, tourism and the communication media. I have carried out diverse activities in 14 cities and tourist centers of Argentina and Uruguay.
I worked in scenography, designed logotypes, packaging, wardrobe, leaflets, etc. Published a book and produced a didactic game. I also had photographic exhibitions and participated in others with paintings and illustrations. I produced advertisements, shows by renown artists, and worked in the organization of social, cultural and sportive events.
In the audio-visual area, I produced several documentary videos, institutional and touristic, for various skiing centers and hotels, my own television programs and others for third parties, in national and international media, and also in my own channel.
My activities led me to travel exhaustively, during the last 23 years, through a vast region, concentrating particularly in the northern part of the Argentine Patagonia, where I live since 14 years, always connected with mountain activities and its incredible surroundings.
As from 1997, I started to produce several videos with one central theme: birds. It was then that I discovered a fascinating world that drove me to promote the knowledge of these wonderful beings, applying, in this process, the techniques acquired in my previous activities.
The present project has the objective, precisely, of moving forward with the production several products and programs to contribute towards the knowledge of birds and their response to seasonal changes and environment conditions, their migrations and their interaction with humans.
